C-section and pregnancy???

Hi. I had a c-section with my first labor. When I went too see the doctor for a check up she told me that because of my c-section I could only have at the most 3 children. I was just wondering if once you have a c-section is it possible to have you next children naturaly (by pushing)??? And also is it true you can only have 3 kids after having a c-section??

C-section and pregnancy???
After the first c-section if it were a bikini cut, you can try what is called V-bac which is vaginal delivery after c-section. Sometimes after having a c section dr's prefer doing c sections because of complications that may come. One thing for sure if you have a c section you cannot get the drugs to help you go into labor or dilate faster like pitocin. I am the mother of 4, 2 vaginally and the last 2 were c section. I tried to have # 4 vaginially, but he just wouldn't come down so I did have a c section. My doctors did tell me that I could have another baby if I wanted, but now it would definetly have to be c section because the chances of uterus rupturing has increased. Also, 3 is probably a good # because of the scar tissure that builds up and the increase of complications. I am sure that you could have 4 but it would definetly increase your risk. Get a second opinion if you want more.
Reply:i had two c-sections by choice! u can have another child with normal delivery if there are no complications tied to it.. ex: the child is too big, the child is breech, the child turned face up... you can have up to four c-sections... if u try for more at c-sections you are running a health risk for yourself.. dont do that cause your children need you!!!
Reply:I am pregnant and researched this myself natural is possible after a c-section but not recommended unless more than a year has passed between pregnancies. A c-section does compromise the strength of the uterus but all bodies are different I can't believe your doc would put a limit on how many babies you can have. Get a second or third opinion.
Reply:I've had 2 children both born by C-section (they were both breech, and weighed between 8-9 lbs.) My Dr. also told me that I could only have 3 children. To your other question, it is possible to have a vaginal delivery with your second child, even if your 1st was a cesearen. You have a good chance of having a vaginal birth if: Your C-section cut is a transverse (bikini) cut, instead of the up and down cut, -or- Your Dr. or Midwife tells you that they think you can have a natural birth, -or- baby is head down, and labor is going as planned.
Reply:One of my daughter-in-laws had all four of her children by C-section though she was told she should only have three. All came through it with flying colors!

She tried to have the third one naturally, via induced labor, but there was something wrong and though she went through many hours of labor, the baby refused to be born. It's an individual thing, though, so you may need to speak with your doctor to get some answers.

Best Wishes!!

Reply:Yes, it is possible to have a vaginal delivery after having a c-section. And if you could only have three kids by c-section, i wouldn't have a little sister. My mother had four kids by c-section.
Reply:There is a slight possibility that you could have a natral birth. Hoever, scarring makes the uterus weaker and you could rupture and die, or the baby could die in natural birth. Try to go with another c-section of possible. No reason to risk it.
Reply:My sister had a c sec with her first

Second Naturally

My Grandama had all c secs and she had 4 kids

its not true but its recommended you don't exceed too many. C secs are a major surgery, Too many of the same surgery can result in problems latter on.

VBAC's are sooo common....dieing because of them are not. Dont worry about the post above me
Reply:its possible to have a natural birth after a c-section, but i think it really depends on how long youve had to heal from the 1st baby
Reply:Every dr. says diff things....mine says you can have as many c sections as needed....if your body allows it
Reply:You can have a natural childbirth after C-section- it's technical name is Vaginal Birth After Cesarean or VBAC if you want to look it up. They do not recommend that you have more than 3 babies by Cesarean because it weakens your uterine wall and creates a lot of scar tissue. If you had more babies, the stretching of your uterus could cause the old incision to tear internal which would mean big problems for you and your baby.
Reply:You doctor is telling a story. There is a chance that you can have your baby naturally after your first c-section. I have had 5 c-sections and my doctor told me he has delivered 8 babies by c-section on one woman. My dr. has delivered all but two of my kids. I would get a second opinion. I guess it may depend on the length of time between this baby and your last baby, your weight and scar tissue might also play a factor in her reason for saying that. Just explore your options and express your wanting for a natural birth and talk to her about it.Anyway, good luck on your baby. There is the such thing as VBAC Vaginal Delivery After C-section.
Reply:Yes, it's possible to give birth naturally after a c-section depending on why you had to have a c-section for the first delivery. It's called a V-BAC. They reccomend not having many children via c-section because of what it does to your body. The scar tissue remains on you uterous, and with every pregnancy, it becomes more painfull to carry a child because scar trissue doesn't stretch, and it just becomes more dangerous.
